We couldn’t call ourselves the best New York City coffee shop if we didn’t have the coolest merchandise to back it up! Swing by our café to pick out your very own Black Lab t-shirt or sweatshirt. Our Black Lab clothing features our logo – a drawing of our very own black lab, Daisy – and the name of our café. There’s nothing we love more than spotting our fellow BLCers out and about on the Upper West Side; and if you’re a New Yorker, you too know how much those little moments of community can mean.

At Black Lab Café, the fun doesn’t stop with a morning cup of joe! Many of our visitors are surprised to find the wide selection of alcoholic beverages we offer. Whether you’re shifting from work mode to happy hour or kicking back at the cafe on a Saturday evening, you can make your visit all the more fun with one of our fourteen beers, wines, and ciders.

Our long list of dog-friendly goodies doesn’t stop at human-grade food. At Black Lab Café we offer an entire menu of treats for your darling pup!
We’re proud to serve nothing but the most delicious treats at our cafe – whether you or your dog is placing the order. Our artisan dog treats are sourced from the highest-quality suppliers (try the Puptarts, Paw’reos, Pupcakes and more by Maison de PawZ!) for a snacking experience your pup can enjoy both during and after. They’re guaranteed to get an extra pep in their step when they hear, “Wanna go to the café?” - which is, afterall, how we measure success. What’s better than seeing our dogs do their happy dance?

Adoption Events
We don’t just love seeing dogs and their owners spend time together; we also love being part of how they found each other! To help make this happen, we regularly use our dog-friendly space to host adoption events with local animal rescues. So far, we’ve partnered with Animal Lighthouse and Bideawee to help the rescued dogs of New York City find their forever homes - and most importantly, their forever best friends!

As dog owners, we know how much of a blessing outdoor seating can be; that’s why we put time into perfecting the outdoor space at our New York City coffee shop! Whether your dog is feeling less-than-social or the weather is too good to miss, our outdoor seating allows you to enjoy the comfort and coffee of Black Lab Café in the peaceful ambience of the Upper West Side.
Our outdoor area features dozens of seating options, transparent overhead covering, and gentle lighting after sundown. It’s the perfect place to enjoy an iced coffee while escaping the heat or to cozy up with a hot drink during a flash of rain or snow.
